LOGICS / Bench 04

Chip Bench

Your design, as real 74-series chips.

A schematic isn't a build. Chip Bench turns your gates into the actual TTL packages you'll push into a breadboard — with every pinout, the package count, the supply connections, probe points to check your signals, and a wire-colour plan so the finished board is easy to trace.

How it works

From schematic to a board you can build.

01

Map gates to packages

Each gate is assigned to a slot in a real IC. Quad packages hold four gates, so you see exactly how many chips the design needs.

02

Read the pinouts

Every package is drawn pin by pin, with the pins your design uses highlighted — no datasheet hunting mid-lab.

03

Connect the supply

Power and ground for every chip are listed, so no package is left floating when you switch on.

04

Probe and wire by colour

Probe points mark where to check your signals, and a colour plan keeps power, ground and signals easy to tell apart.

Example

F = AB + C, wire by wire.

The same two-gate circuit from Gate Bench, as a build sheet. U1 is a 74LS08, U2 a 74LS32. Colours shown are an example plan.

#FromToWire
1+5 V railU1 pin 14 · U2 pin 14red
2GND railU1 pin 7 · U2 pin 7black
3Input AU1 pin 1 (1A)yellow
4Input BU1 pin 2 (1B)yellow
5U1 pin 3 (AB)U2 pin 1 (1A)green
6Input CU2 pin 2 (1B)yellow
7U2 pin 3 (F)Outputblue
Probe points
P1 U1 pin 3AB
P2 U2 pin 3F

If F is wrong, P1 tells you whether the fault is before or after the AND gate.

Gate slots
74LS08
74LS32

Three spare gates on each chip — room to grow before you need another package.

Limits bite on add, never on keep.

Free

4 ICs on the board.

4 of 4 — unlock to keep building

Nothing already placed is hidden or greyed out. An older 9-IC design still opens and works — you just can't add a tenth.

Pro

Unlimited ICs.
